Buying investments

Why does Money not use double-register accounting when buying an investment?
I would like to transfer money from an account into an investment fund, but
there does not seem to be a way to do this.

Tick TrackCashTransactions in the account settings, if it is not
already that way. That will cause you to have a Contributions/Cash
account for that account. Then a Buy or Sell or Dividend, etc
entered into the Investment Transactions register will also affect
the Cash Transactions register too.

If TrackCashTransactions is already ticked, then Buy is the
transaction you would want to enter.

.... and then from the bank account, you could Transfer cash to the
Cash Transactions register of the investment account. There is the
possibility of modifying the Buy transaction to take the money from
the bank account directly, but transferring to the Cash Transactions
register may more accurately describe what is happening.
