I just installed Quicken Deluxe Home and Business 2005 on my new computer,
and restored my data file. When I did my first download, the system received
dozens of old transactions. In one account, 149 duplicate transactions were
downloaded, almost all of which are marked NEW. I cannot seem to find a
means of deleting them all at once, and deleting one at a time will take me
a while. Query: How can I delete all the downloaded transactions??

I don't think you can delete them before you accept them; but in
Q2005 - for the first time in Quicken - you can select groups of
transactions using the standard Windows selection keys and
delete them ... at least you can do that if they are not
investment account transactions (I can find no way to select
multiple investment account transactions).

After selecting the transactions, I believe you must go to

Edit > Transactions > Delete

to delete them.

Alternatively, you can effectively delete downloaded
transactions by reverting to the backup you made just before you
downloaded them ... assuming you made such a backup.

I'm not at that computer now, but as I recall, it was not possible to select
more than one NEW transaction at a time, but I will check again. As for the
prior backup, that's how the problem started. I restored the backup, and
when I downloaded my transactions, all the old ones came up, most marked
NEW.

Had to delete them individually. It took some time, but it is done.

If you have Q2005 and the transactions were *not* investment
account transactions, you could have selected them (depending on
where they were in your register, you may have had to select
them "individually" ... using the CTRL key; still easier than
deleting one by one) and deleted them as I suggested (Edit >
Transactions > Delete). It just doesn't work for investment
account transactions.
