I am trying to install MS Money Plus on my computer. I have all system
requirements and have attempted through Autorun, opening disk files and
clicking on setup, and copied all files to the program folder in C drive.
Install does occur, but product key is not asked for. This disk has a product
key. After install, Money will not open. Downloaded trial version and it
worked great. Help!

So when you attempted to open Money at that point, what happened?
Try right-clicking the Money launch icon, and choosing
RunAsAdministrator.

You don't enter the product key from the trial version to convert it
to non-trial. You activate within the program installed.

Are you installing from a retail disk, or are you installing from a
downloaded file? What are your plans for 2011?

Sorry for the delay on the response. I am installing from a retail disk
purchased from an online business. I used to use Money 2004 and loved it. I
just finished with a trial version of Money Essentials and was just as
impressed. I will not use Quicken. I am using Vista as an OS. The trial
version has been uninstalled. I tried installing as administrator. Actually
the Geek Squad set me up as administrator on my computer. As for 2011, all I
care is that the program is working great and that I can update my account
directly from my bank. I am hoping that there will be enough of an outry
that Microsoft will reintroduce Money. It really is preferable to Quicken.
I have also right clicked to see if there are any options that can be
changed, resulting in the program activating. Nothing so far.

I had purchased an unopened retail box of MS Money Plus deluxe, since
my 2 1/2 year old downloaded install had to be wiped out to reimage my
HD and the activation key would have expired.. The activation key
with the box wouldn't work, and of course there are no viable support
options. So as a last resort, I tried the key in the e-mail from
October '07 when I purchased Money online and that activation key
worked. Go figure!

You purchased that box how? That should have worked, tho you may
have had to uninstall the downloaded version and install from the
disk first.

I am glad to hear about your success.

Purchased on E-bay (he has offered to send another copy). The
original downloaded install went "poof" when HP reimaged my disk (but
sent me back the same PC).. But...I am thinking. A year ago when I
got this new PC I had to call Digital River and as I recall they gave
me an override key to reinstall the downloaded version on this
machine, This time, however, the original key did the trick. Perhaps
in the process of activation it sees that it was previously activated
on this machine. I was also able to use that key to do a 2nd install
on my laptop.
