I am an MBA (1996) and Computer Engineer (1994) who has been working
with OLAP Business Intelligence software which is for business
reporting, analysis, and planning with multidimensional view. In
business reporting systems that I have implemented there are accounts
like Sales, Cost, Margin etc, but no debits and credits. I had
intensive discussions with a conglomerate, which I am joining in
December, and there I will be working with there SAP Financials
system. I read some user manuals on SAP, and tried a demo of SAP, and
I need futher clarification as to what is debit and credit as in SAP
software. I am also planning to work on their business warehouse
which is a OLAP tool.
