O.k, I'm not cheating just searching the net,
What benefit entitlements are there available to a lone parent, with HIV+
and 4 dependent children under the age of 16?
How much income support would she get?
DLA, would she be entitled to the high rate care?
Incapacity?
Please explain to me constant attendance allowance, would she be entitled?
Carers allowance?
Child DLA, if one were being tested and the one other tested positive would
they be entitled to the highest care rate?

Would her weekly benefit entitlement be around £247.70 per week, plus tax
credits = £9,437.20 PA.

Thanks for your help

Debbie.

Try using the calculator here to work out her "Applicable amount"

Have a look at the information in both the physical and Mental health
guides. The criteria is not done on the actual diagnosed condition but on
the need for care and attention or supervision arising from that disability.
The will be looking at the amount of time through the day and/or night the
claimant needs someone to help with washing, dressing, feeding toiletting or
keeping out of danger. For the mobility criteria high rate it is based on
the virtual inability to walk based on the distance, time manner and speed
of progress, or low rate the ability to walk alone in unfamiliar places.

Constant Attendance Allowance is an industial injuries benefit, if HIV were
contracted at work then possibly if she is 100% disabled and needing
constant attendance as a result of loss of faculty.

> Carers allowance? Only if she is spending 35 hrs or more looking after

someone on middle/high rate dla care and is not in gainful employment.

Details of child DLA claims at the first link. but it wouldn't be because
they tested positive but because they needed a significant amount more time
than would be spent on a non-disabled child that age. The carer would have
to detail how much extra time this HIV child needed over an above that a
child of that age would normally need.
