Can any of the regulars offer me some info? I have just got a new job
starting in September, part time. Currently we receive the highest rate of
Tax credit, and child tax credit for our three kids, as our income is very
low. It may well still be below the £96 a week threshold when I start work,
as it is low pay and only term time. I need to know how my tax credits may
be affected, and what level Nat Ins payments kick in at? Are there any
implications for my employer?
Many thanks
J

NI payments start at £89 per week. Tax credits get reduced at the rate of 37%
for all taxable income over £5060 a year - but they let you off the first £2500
increase in income over the previous year.

One thing you should be aware of is that you will need to average your
income over 52 weeks, even though you work for less than this. -it might
help to point this out when sending in your payslips.
