    This may be a problem with my scanner but thought I would check if anyone has
    come across this problem. Having imported items with item codes from CVS
    file, barcode scanning works fine when set to UPC. When an Item is created
    manually with a 12 digit custom item code, everything appears correct. When
    scanning from barcode reader it displays the all digits exept the last digit.
    The last digit changes randomly to another number. Is there something I'm
    missing.
    Any reply would be greatlu appreciated.

  2. Ragu,

    You should not be trying to create a barcode with the UPC code, that is for the manufacturers of the product and is assigned to that manufacturer by the Uniform Code Council, Inc

    In addition, the UPC is currently a 13 digit code, with the last being a check digit.

    To read more about Uniform Code Council, Inc, now called the GS! US and its properties, click here;

    You must be using Outlook Express or some other type of newsgroup reader to
    see and download the file attachment(s). If you are not using a reader, follow
    the link below to setup Outlook Express. Click on "Open with newsreader"
    under the MS Retail Management System on the right.
