In calculating the percentage of a house for the home office deduction I'm wondering if one can calculate the total square footage of the house with the interior footage, excluding the walls. Add up the space of each room. In my house the walls make up about 25% of the total square footage. This would increase the percentage by reducing the size of the house.

Any references and comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

K.I.S.S. principle: Take the total square footage of your home from your municipality property assessment and use that.
