Money 2002 on Vista - unable to recover data

I updated from XP to Vista (new PC) , re-installed Money 2002 (Version 9 UK)
from CD and now Money asks for a password. I didnt use passwords previously
and have 9 years of data. I have tried the file repair tool, and have run
Money ix XP compatability and 'as adminisitrator'. - These did not fix the
problem. A password utility tool reports there is no password set (it could
    be wrong).

I get the same results if I try to re-install a back up file.

Any help would be very welcome!

Most likely your existing Money file is from a version newer than
Money 2002. You can confirm that with Help->About on the old
    computer.

Yes, that might be it - but how do I upgrade Money 202? MS no longer support
Money and the upgrade options on Money 2002 therefore have no effect. - I am
taken to a MS page without any upgrade options.

You can still buy MS Money in shops and on eBay.

Make sure you buy a UK version as many offered on the Internet are from the
USA and the USA version does not open UK format .mny file.

The latest UK version is 2005, I've just looked on www.google.co.uk/products
and there are numerous shops offering Money 2006 & 2007.

If you buy Money 2005 you have to open a new file, it will then download
updates and then open your data file.

I'm not sure if Money 2005 will read a 2002 file.
