1099-INT Copy C

Does Copy C of 1099-INT get filed with the tax return (in
this case for a C corp) or is it only for the convenience of
the payer?

After I filled out 1099-INT I noticed that Copy C was so
faint it's unreadable (despite having used an IBM Selectric,
which usually pounds through anything--and this was only one
copy).

I don't have any more 1099-INT forms and would like to avoid
getting and filling out another one, so if it's only for
internal company use, I can just as easily make a photocopy
of Copy A.

Thank you,
Ponty

That's it! photocopy copy A to retain for your corporate
files. In fact 1099's I print for client copies are all
printed on plain paper, thus saving a form.

It's just for you. The forms you file with the tax return
are W-2, W-2G, and 1099-R. See the middle-left of the first
page of the 1040, where it says which forms to attach.

So what gets done with other 1099s when they report federal
income withheld? ex: 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, SSA-1099, ....

In years past, but not currently, there was a check box on
page 2 next to the Withholding entry line.

This tipped an examiner to use a special tolerance rule when
manually verifying the W/H credit to the attached W-2, W-2p
& 1099-R to SUM in W/H on the information returns sent by
the payers.
