USA 1099??

have a single owner llc....wife has written several business checks to our sole employee as salary when i;m unavailable to generate payroll check thru our intuit pro w/enhanced payroll software......just learned of this....now faced w/what to do about it....certainly want to be able to deduct payment for services.....can i generate a 1099 for these monies? or ??? other solution.........any help greatly appreciated

Depends what happened: If you had been paying employee as w2 employee and last few checks as 1099 then its possible employee became 1099 employee. But if paid w2 then 1099 then w2 then its not likely employee became 1099 employee. So lets assume it was the latter: If you have been paying employee as w2 employee less taxes you need to figure 1) what you should have paid employee less tax and 2) what tax should have gone to fed and state then 3) fix all that by now filing the correct payroll taxes
