150 semester hour requirement to sit for CPA exam?

Why did most states apply the 150 semester hour requirement to sit for
CPA exam while some did not? Will California apply this requirement
soon or later? If California applies this requirement later on, will
current California CPAs with only 120 semester hours need to go back to
school and get additional 30 semester hours to keep their license?

closer to the action.

California is a dual track state. You should carefully review
California's unique rules at the State Board of Accountancy's web
site.


And no, we who were licensed before the new rules took effect do not
have to go back to school to keep our audit licenses.

You really should go to the SBA site and read the California
Accountancy Act and the SBA rules.
