Hello,
I've been told by Fidelity Investments that for 2009 they have until
2/15/10 to get their 1099s in the mail. Fidelity said that the IRS
has given the industry the extra 2 weeks because last year there were
a lot of problems (dividends being re-characterized??) associated with
the 1/31 deadline.
The Fidelity rep. didn't know if this change was only for this year or
was permanent. Can anyone verify any of the above?
BTW, I'm not complaining. I think it's a good idea.
Thanks.
