2004 Gross Income

Hello:
According to my tax guy my business took in before paying any vendors,
etc. way more then I feel it took in. I am not sure how he came up with the
number he did but I know it can't be right.
How can I find out the total income from all my clients for 2004 before
expenses of any kind?

Run the QB PL& report for last year. Look for at the Total Income
line. make sure you have Cash/Accrual set correctly for the report.

Your tax guy didn't 'come up' with anything. He simply told you what your QB
file shows. If you want, send me the file and I'll take a quick look...free.

Reports ==> Company and Financial ==> Profit and Loss Standard. Select 'last
fiscal year' as the reporting period.

When you look at the report, there will be a number for gross profit.
You can double-click on the number ('drill down') to show all the
transactions that are in your QB file as income.

If you want to check your Gross Receipts then go to Reports > Sales. In
here you have an option to have a report based on Customers or Vendors.
Now go to 'Modify Report', in the 'Report Date Range' put
1/1/04 and 12/31/04 in the 'From' and 'To' fields respectively
and in the 'Report Basis' section check on the cash to only see the
actual cash received.
