"A communication error occurred" error message

Help! I've tried everything I know...

version: MS Money 2005, v14.0.125.1105 (latest one)

Problem: When trying to import an .ofx file into my account, I get the
stupid "A communication error occurred. Please try your call again.
If you continue to have problems call your financial institution's
Online Services Customer Support."

"Please try your call again?" Please! What kind of error message is
this when it's not applicable to what I'm trying to do! Anyway...

Details:
- The last time I updated the account was on 3/20, so until then, I was
able to download and import .ofx files correctly. So I don't think
this problem just started happening after the .1105 update (which I
can't remember when it was downloaded).

- If I create a new MS Money file, it then imports the .ofx fine!!!

- I've tried uninstalling, then reinstalling MS Money 2005. Without
downloading .1105, I have problems converting the MS Money file. I
follow the KB article on that issue:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;890393
I can then open the MS Money file correctly, but still can't import the
..ofx

- I've tried downloading the smallest .ofx file possible. Didn't help.

- Inspected the .ofx file with a text editor. Doesn't seem to have
any issues.

- I don't have MSN Bill Pay.

- I've read various threads with people with similar problems, but
haven't been able to find a solution.

Any ideas of what I can try?

Glyn,

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried it. It didn't find any
errors, but the problem still occurs.

I have the same problem for a couple of months. In late March, my
whole PC crashed and I had to reinstall everything from the OEM
Recovery Disk. When I finally got around to reinstalling Money 2005,
and I rebuilt my association to may backup data file, the problem did
not go away.

I will probably switch back to Quicken when the new release come out.
Money has too many bugs for me.

Oilcan,

Is the switch easy to do? Have you done that before? I have also been
debating this. I'm not sure if Quicken is better for my needs, but I'm
willing to try it out since I can't do anything with MS Money as of now.
