Accountant authorization for tax purpose?

John K

When I filed my first SA through an accountant several years ago, I
was asked to sign a letter of authorization for him to handle all my
tax affairs. Is this a standard practice? If I wish to file my next SA
directly myself, do I need to cancel this authorization?

Thanks, -JK.

No need to, but your accountant might cancel it for you as he may not
want to assist you any more if you try to DIY. I've had ex-clients come
back for assistance when things have gone wrong as a result of DIY, and
I've said "tuff!!" (Only more politely, but with that meaning).
