Hello,

I have rheumatoid arthritis and as a consequence it is difficult for me to work on a computer for a long time. I'm wondering how much do accountants use a computer in their day-to-day work? Is there any variation in public vs private industry in terms of the amount of computer use?

Thanks.

Computers are a HUGE part of accounting and as technology continues to expand there is just going to be more computer interaction.

Out of a typical workday, how much would you say you are at a desk entering data or writing reports, etc?

Thanks a lot.

Your typical accounting job is going to be 90-95% in front of a computer and the other 5-10% spent in meetings. You really can't do ANYTHING at all without a computer.
