Accounting Running Sbs2003 Slow over Network

We currently are testing MS Accounting 2008, and after we have managed to get
the installation running on the Sbs 2003 server, Which possibly took me about
a week to get it working correctly with the Server and Outlook and Getting
BCM 2007 Running on a server,

The main issue that we are now getting is that everything is very very slow
when just switching between any screen After Changing the SQL Server slightly
still the same, it is running as a file server and the files are fine even
large files and the network is not overloaded but it is presently unusable as
a system for us because of the speed, Is there anything that can be done to
speed things up over a network ? BCM has also slowed down since the link
between the systems has occured,

Also for Microsoft BCM > Accounting is great but there needs to be a sync
option between BCM and outlook Contacts / Exchange this really does limit
your Scope for full Syncronisation between all devices.

Hi,
you could search the group and find the same answer for OA on SBS2003
database.
Ours runs not on the server but shared inside the domain on a dedicated box
and works much better but is still somewhat slow when more than 2 users are
usin it. With BCM it is even slower. We have gone to disabling the BCM and
restoring a backup to laptops with BCM not joined to the domain with daily
updates to the database.

Hello Chris

Thanks for that I have a PC I can try and run it on, I will test it on that
on the network and see what I get, The BCM side of things did seem handy but
because of the problems and the not being able to sync it will be no great
loss to detach it from the database.

I have looked around and found others with similar problems, But didn't find
an answer so thought I would add my thoughts here.

Just to add,
We do run BCM/OA integration on our laptops (with the restore) so we can
schedule jobs using Outlook then access/connect to our Office Live account.
Very very convoluted way to access the database. Via this method we have to
do double entry to go mobile then add sales/quotes etc... to OA. It works but
takes time to compile/coordinate. One would think that this scenario should
be available for purchase beyond just trying to piece together existing
software and services from the same vendor.
Checked your site. How do you incorporate your online sales to your
inventory using OA?
