USA accounting software

Hello,, I am still an accounting student, and I was wondering what are the most useful programs that accountant use these days and if there is a certificate that I can take fore these programs. If someone can help me with this I will really appreciate it.

To my knowledge, the simple accounting programs do not have formal certification programs. The complex programs do, but they are very expensive training (eg, $1,000 for 3 days) which are comprehensive, but generally meant to be paid for by a company. These are typically not worth it. Familiarity with one software will generally help you with others. Although in some cases, knowing a specific software will help you to get a job, it is really hard to figure out which software you need to commit to learning.
