Accounting Systems

What would the ideal Accounting system be programmed in?

Visual Basic/Visual Basic.Net & SQL Server (Windows Only)

or

ASP/HTML & SQL Server (Cross Platform)

Looking for suggestions...

Thanks,
Mike

It's not the language, it's the functionality. How constraining is the
design? Does it hamper management in running their businesses as they deem
best or is one required to modify ones business processes to fit (shoehorn)
into the software.

Of course, you can always develop a system of your own. While this may have
been prohibitive in the past, it's easy with STEP FORWARD - look for
yourself at www.gestalt.com. By the way it's written in java and runs on
Windows 98/NT/2000/XP and Linux.

That's like asking if the ideal accounting program interface is in English,
French or Chinese.

Hey, I'd know but how's about mySQL and Python?
Then from a marketing stand point it will run on anything, anywhere, even
over the net? Oh and don't forget to use XML layouts.
