I have owned Verizon stock since 1984. During that time there have been a number of spin offs. Idearc (stock went into 401k and was sold and reinvested within 401k which no longer exists), Fairpoint (declared bankruptcy) and Frontier Communications (which I sold). I understand I need to enter the spin off information into Quicken. Given every spin off effects the cost basis of Verizon, do I really need to backtrack to include all three or can I just enter the Frontier Communications spin off so I can get a cost basis for the sale and a new cost basis for my remaining Verizon stock?
Thanks in advance for answering!

Suggest you go to the Verizon website--//investor.verizon.com take the selection shareowner info then cost basis worksheet and complete the worksheet for each grouping of shares purchased to determine the cost basis of your Frontier Communication shares.
