All bills paid, why A/P?

I enter my bills, then "Pay Bills" immediately, but they still show up as Accounts Payable. Clicking on Payables line items brings up checks marked "Paid". How do I clear these bogus payables?

some times its Happening.Better you delete the bill & check.Then enter the Bill and do the Pay bill...
