We looked at it a few months ago. The demo kept crashing and locking up my
computer. The sales guy claimed that the full version wouldn't have that
problem, but was unwilling to give us a copy for evaluation. Catalyst
looked promising, but we eventually created a stripped down MRP in house
using MySQL that suits our particular needs. There are a lot of hungry DB
programmers available right now. If you can create clearly defined
functional requirements, custom software may be cheaper than trying to
shoehorn your company into one of the one-size-fits-all mrp/erp systems.

It's been about a year, but as I recall, it would happen either when I was
trying to add or delete inventory items or modify a bom. The demo was
severely limited in the total number of items, so I was removing some of
their demo bom's and inventory and entering our own.

MISys is pretty well liked for folks who need serialized components of
their builds or more sophisticated projecting of their raw materials
needs and manufacturing schedule. Just my two cents.
