back to work bonus

The implication of this bonus is that you must have been working part time
and claiming benefit in order to get this if you have to stop claiming
because you are no working more. My question is: can you calim this if you
havent been working and just claiming and you find a job.

If it's the one I'm thinking of... it's intended for people who work less than
16 hours and get their benefit reduced by their wages. Everything you earn over
£5 is taken off your benefit, but half of the deduction is paid back when the
hours increase to, or beyond, 16 hours, to a maximim of £1,000.

Liam might be the best person to tell you, but I'm sure that is the scheme.

No.
Briefly, the bonus is a bank, half of any earnings taken into account on
your claim (i.e fraudulent earnings don't qualify nor do the earnings
disregarded) are 'banked' and can be claimed if you cease claiming after
starting work of over 16 hrs pw.

Well I signed with pertemps today with a very good prospect of getting a
job. I said that i would have tot talk to the jobcentre as i have very
little money at the moment and I will need something to tide me through till
i get paid (all things considered). Now im not going to let the jobcentre
and their silly rules prevent me from taking any job that the agency offer,
but if they can't help that's just sad.

I'm not sure what you mean by silly rules that would prevent you taking any
job the agency offered (after all, their main role is to get you into work)
but there are various return to work incentives (Job Grant, Housing Benefit
Run-On, Back to Work Bonus, etc.) as well as help available via the Social
Fund.

I mean that it costs me more money to do the job than i currenlty have and
that if the jobcentre can't help with costs to get me started then they are
a waste of time.

Here we go again.

Every few months you post a variation of the same thing. And the whole thread
disintegrates into chaos..

Answers given last time are still as valid today. Do a google groups search on
your email address and look at what you were told then.

Especially the bits about Social Fund and Crisis Loans.
