Backup File location

Is there any way to have Quicken 2002 put its backup files in a folder
other than the one it does by default?

I keep all my data backed up on a hard disk other than the one on which
the 'live' data exists and would like to have Quicken backup its files
to that separate hard disk.

Thank you.

I believe that has been available on every release via the pop-up screen you see
before the backup runs.

Hi, Jack.

As Mike said, this has not changed for at least the past decade.

After clicking Backup (or Ctrl+B or however YOU get to the Backup screen),
the Quicken Backup screen appears. The middle of that screen is the
location where your VOLUNTARY backups go. This is probably where you are
choosing to put these backups on your other hard disk.

Quicken keeps its AUTOMATIC backups in the BACKUP subfolder; this apparently
is the feature you are asking about. So far as I know, this BACKUP
subfolder is always in the folder where Quicken keeps your current, working
copy, and Quicken offers no option to change this location - except by
changing the location of your "Quicken file". So, if your working file is
at X:\QFile, then your AUTOMATIC backups will be in X:\QFile\BACKUP. And
you may, if you like, put your VOLUNTARY backups into X:\QFile (or a
subfolder, maybe X:\QFile\MyBackups). This is one way to put both automatic
and voluntary backups onto the same hard disk.

But that kind of defeats the strategy of keeping multiple backups on
different media, doesn't it?
