backup notice

I am using Quicken Deluxe 2001.
I have three different accounts.
On one of them when I back up it tells me that there is already an account
with that name and do I want to overwrite it?
I would like to know how to turn this feature on for the other two accounts
Thanks for any help

Hi, Rich.

Define "account", as you mean it in your message.

To Quicken, "account" means something like a bank account, a stockbroker
account, an asset account like a house or car, or a liability account, like
a mortgage payable.

Perhaps you mean what Quicken calls a "file". That is, you have a Quicken
file that includes all your accounts; I have a Quicken file for all my
accounts. You may have a Quicken file for your own accounts and another for
your child's accounts, for example, or for your corporation. (A Quicken
"file" is actually a set of related files, so in this newsgroup we often
refer to them as a "fileset", including RICH.QDF, RICH.QEL, RICH.QTX, etc.
You might also have Quicken files (filesets) that include RICHJR.QDF or
RICHCORP.QDF, for example.)

Please read one of the several recent threads discussing backups of Quicken
files. For example, see the one started by Kristin on 12/23/01: Subject:

I'm using v2002 so may be different but try: Edit>>Option>>Quicken
Program>>General and check "Warn before overwriting old files"

Interesting. *My* notifications won't turn *off*, no matter how many
times I check and uncheck all the little boxes! Anyone know how to
stop that nagging box from popping up?

Using the same option noted by the previous responder, Ken Runge, in this
thread.
