Backup to floppy drive failed or was cancelled

I've been using Money for years. I'm now upgraded to version 14.

I had this problem before but no matter where I search cannot find the
answer. This problem has only manifested itself following a complete
re-install of my computer. When I attempt to backup my data to a
floppy disc (actually a USB drive) I get this error:

Backup to floppy drive failed or was cancelled

I tried up to 4 external drives but still no joy.
Any help would be appreciated.

I already read that. Unfortunately it doesn't apply.

I assume you can reliably write to that drive independently of Money, and
that the drive has a decent amount of disk space available? If you're using
the compression option on backup, try turning it off (or on).

No joy either. Would a fresh install of the proglram help?

If you can't reliably write on the drive, then it would imply to me it's a
drive/system issue, rather than Money.

I restored an archive and changed the backup name from main.mny to
main_money.mny and hey presto it backs up. Now why an earth should
that happen? If I rename back to main.mny the fault comes back!
