Bank Rec

We have been using Microsoft Money for years. We are
using the 2001 version. I was balancing an account and
clicked on postpone to look if my credit card fees were
in line from the previous months. I was only out of the
balance screen for a few minutes and when I went back to
balance my account, I verified the amounts (beginning and
ending balance) and clicked Next and got a pop up screen
saying: Starting Balance? The starting balance entered
from your statement does not match the starting balance
calculated from our Money records....etc. The two things
listed to check are----make sure you haven't skipped a
statement (I know this isn't the case), and the next says
to make sure no transactions from earlier statements are
missing from the Account Register...etc. How could that
happen? And also, this account has thousands of entries
in it. How can I possibly see if one item is missing? I
can't afford to loose any time on completing these bank
recs. Would someone please get back with me on this?
Thanks

You can select View to Unreconciled transactions. See if any old
transactions have for some reason become not reconciled.

The net sum of the reconciled transactions is what Money computes to
be the starting balance.
