Hi Peter - your best bet is to get into public accounting (auditing). You will learn a whole lot in a little bit of time. Regardless if you are looking to become a CPA or not, it is definitely worthwhile. The training is more than you will get at any private job and the experience in so many different areas cannot be matched.

Initially job experience is always GooD!

After your Degree or ACCA you have to focus on your practice and working experience because in ACCA your work experience matter a lot. If you work and practice then you can improve your career's path.

Congratulations on becoming a new accountant! Your best bet is to enter into an entry level public accounting position. Gain experience through the application of what you have learned academically, build contacts, and give yourself time to determine what specific career you would like to pursue. This will not only allow you to expand on the knowledge that you currently have, gain experience that will look great on your resume, but also allow you to dabble in numerous fields and industries that may be interesting (and some not so interesting) to you.
