CA CMA or CGA

If you are going into public practice - I would become a CA. CMA is great
for Management or Cost Accounting. It will get you more in an Oil & Gas
production company as it works with Costs. The thing is whether or not you
want the stress and liability with the CA. CA (I believe) has done away
with the passing all of your QFE's & UFE's at the same time. It is more
strenuous. Again as stated it depends on what stress level you want. CA you
have to do two years as public practice. CMA/CGA you can chose an industry
for those two years.

Hi,

I'm seriously considering CMA, but the thing that is holding me back
is how many CA's are in top management positions in very large
companies. I've been checking out executive biographies on the
websites of many of Canada's very successful large companies and there
does seem to be a large number of CA's or MBA's from very good schools
that make up these executive teams. I've found a number of CMA's as
well but I don't think I've found a CGA so far.
One other appealing thing about the CA is he international
recognition. It is recognised in Australia, New Zealand, Britain etc.
I'm not sure so about the CMA and CGA.
But that being said, Ceteris paribus, I'd rather do the CMA because I
have absolutely no interest in public practice.
Anyway, if there's a question here, after my long ramble, will a CMA
hit a ceiling in an organization, where the CA would have smashed
right through? Or am I swallowing too much CA propaganda?
