Cannot Import IIF file into QBTimer

I exported an iif file of my customer list and employee list from
QuickBooks to be used with the timer and i put the file on a disk so
that i could import this iif file to all of the computers that are
using the timer. When I try to import the file from the timer, I get
the following error:

"This is not a valid QuickBooks Pro Timer Import File."

and then another error:

Data Import Failed

I exported the file from QuickBooks Pro, how can it not be a valid
file? When I look at the file in Notepad, my customer list and
employee list are in the file.

Any suggestions?

You need to use File>Timer>Export Lists for Timer

I actually did use this method to export the list. It is not
recognizing it as a valid file though. I also created my own small
import file to see if the other file had some corrupt data. I tried
this:

!EMP NAME INIT
EMP Jennifer JW

It won't even import a small set of data like this. The reference
guide for importing iif files says that NAME and INIT are the only
required fields for importing an employee list so this file should
work fine.
