Can't open money 2002 file after reinstall of windows

following a pc rebuild I'm no longer able to open my money (2002) file or backup files. I've tried forcing an update by creating a new file but version remains at 10.

money simply reports that it has encountered an error .

I'm pretty desperate to get this data back in some form & would be grateful for any help
