Can't open source file in Backup

I'm trying to back up my Quicken 2004 data to a CD ROM. Seems to go OK, but
at the end it tells me it can't open the source file, data not backed up.

A couple of possibilities: your filename is longer than 8
characters (7 or less is best); you have non-alphanumeric
characters (such as "#", "$", etc.) in your filename..

You must be using Windows XP. I was backing up to CD until I had to
reinstall XP. After that it won't even try to access the CD.
Others here have had no problem. Others have. There is a message here
with a link to Microsoft's Knowledge Base about this problem. From what
I understand it is the way XP writes to CD.
That doesn't explain how it worked for me before, but I now have to
backup to another folder and then move that over to CD.
If you aren't using XP I don't have a clue. Hopefully someone else here
will.

You're probably running into a known bug. Q04 now reports that the backup to
CD was successful, but in reality it's not happening. You need to do it
manually....
