Did I make a mistake for not getting into a public accounting firm right out of college? It seems like a lot of private companies are looking for people with experience in public accounting. I been out of college for 3 years with AP/AR experience and want to get some experience in public. only problem is firms seem to only like to hire recent grads. What is the best way to get into a public accounting firm after being out of college for 3 years?

Thanks,

I think networking and getting on local accountant forums and websites is a good start. many of these jobs, as it is with any profession, get parceled out to people whom other people know.
