Hi i have been reading around the various sites and have noticed this
CAT qualification, is it aswell recognised as the AAT, because there
seems to be a big price difference in training between the two for
example premier offer the CAT for £199 and the AAT for £399?

any advice appreciated

I've never heard of CAT, but I've heard of AAT. Don't know how much that
helps you.

Personally I did AAT when ACCA used to be a member of the AAT. They then
broke away and started their own qualification CAT.

It might be worth posting the question on the discussion forum at
www.accountancystudents.co.uk and get an answer there from students who may
be studying both.

Sorry cat is the ACCA technician level
AAT is much more widely recognised that CAT.

CAT was ACCAs competitor to the AAT qualification. It never took off (as
most employers predicted at the time) and the ACCA have now reverted back to
reocgnisign the current AAT exam course as being of the same level as CAT,
in terms of exemptions given.
