Change Store ID for an Existing Store

Jeff G.

I have a store that was initially setup incorrectly and
needs to have the store id changed. The store is already
in production and there is transaction data already housed
in the HQ DB, for the store, under the incorrect store id.
I've tried updating the number in the "storeid" column in
each table and the "syncid" column in the configuration
table for both the local and HQ DB.
Afterwards when I try to poll from the store using
headquarters client, I get:
"Uploading store data to HQ"
"Uploaded 9719 records from table Transaction"
"ExecuteCommand Error 2147217871 TimeoutExpired"
"Uploaded 1566 records from table TransactionEntry"
"An Error occurred while uploading transaction data to HQ
Database"
"Not completed due to errors encountered during processing"
"Closed local database"

When I look at the HQ database, I can see new data has
been uploaded to the HQ database in the transaction,
transactionentry, etc.. tables. If I change the storeid
and syncid values back on both DBs, the poll works
correctly.
Can any one tell me what else needs to be changed to
successfully change the store id?

Jeff,

It's my understanding that this is not just a matter of
changing info in the DB. It has been awhile since I've
looked into this but; last time I talked to MS about this
it was not possible. Basically it was such a large task
with so many spots to screw up the DB that it was not
worth it.

Daniel,
If this is the case, do you know what the procedure for
getting the store info (ie: storeid) in sync with all
other accounting areas (ie: GL, AP etc..) where the store
id is different? Would it be to create a new store with
the correct id and migrate the data into the new database?

Jeff,

If I remember this correctly I basically had two choices
one create a new DB with the correct info or just leave
it the way it is.

Daniel,
By creating a new DB, would that pull the
existing/previous transaction data into the new one?
