Claiming a portion of your home expenses..

R Green

Anybody know if you're carrying out a home business (ie. you can claim a
portion of the area that you're using) as business expense and you buy a
vacuum cleaner - would that constitute as a household expense (along with
cleaners, detergents, etc) and therefore a portion is deducted as business
expense or do you have to claim CCA on the stupid vacuum itself instead?

It is my understanding that there is a Canadian tax group, and this type of
question seems better suited for that forum.

Where there is not a very specific rule, or an obviously applicable general rule, use common sense. What would be reasonable in the circumstances?
