Client file access solution sought for small accounting firm

I run a small accounting firm (3 employees) and currently have 108
business clients who run different versions of Quickbooks. At the moment
we receive the QB company files on email from clients. However, as
clients frequently make changes to these files, the issue of concurrency
control is a major issue. Is there a way we could set up QB so that clients
could edit/store files directly on our server (that flags the file if it's
currently in use by anyone)? Also, is it possible to make company files
accessible to relevant clients only?

(Our current office has 3 PCs connected through LAN, 1 MS Back Office
Server (1000MHz 15G) and connects to the Internet with an SDSL connection
(512k))

Thanks in advance.
