Connecting to database

I'm trying to connect some back office computers to the database so that
several people can access RMS Manager at the same time. I've been succesful
with one computer so far, but not with the second. The second one, which is
not connecting to the database, connects to everything else on the nextwork.
I get error number 2147467259 when I try to test the connection.

Anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Basically, this is the situation... I hope I explain it well..

I have 3 computers that I'm trying to link up. One, which for our case,
we'll call the "server". The other two are a notebook and a desktop, so I
guess that's what we'll call them. The desktop and the server connect
beautifully. The notebook and the server can each connect to the desktop as
well, and they can even see each other when I'm in "View workgroup
computers", but they cannot connect to each other. So I'm able to run RMS
Manager on both the desktop and the server, but Administrator on the notebook
won't connect to to the database (or to anything else on the server, for that
matter).

I'm using a wireless router.. the desktop is connected to the wireless
router by ethernet cable, and the server and notebook are both connected
wirelessly.

Help!!

Use the Client Network Utility to set up a Alias for the PC that runs the
SQL database. Also in SO Admin up your time out at the workstations. Not
so sure about wireless in a production environment, as it is NOT supported.
Good luck.

I have a very similar setup to you...a back office computer that contains our
database and acts like a server (which is connected via ethernet cable to a
wireless router), a desktop for POS (connects via an ethernet cable to the
same wireless router) and a laptop that connects wirelessly to the router.

We are using a linksys router and I had to talk with their tech support to
get it to work. The first two techs were no help at all and wasted several
hours of time. Then I spoke with someone at Linksys who immediately knew what
to do and walked me through a few changes to our router & network setup and
within minutes, it all worked perfectly. Sorry, I don't remember any longer
what we did exactly but don't give up...it's completely possible. (I guess
I'm a bit like the first two techs).
