Consignment

Hi,

I want to sell some items on consignment, is there a way to flag
these items to indicate they are on consignment and do not enter
them into reports and the like until they are sold?

Any way to calculate price and set an account for the consignee, to
track all the input of consigned inventory and sales?

Thanks,

Carlos

Have you tried associating a commission with these specific items. It would
track what was on consignment and allow you to know how many were sold.

Elizabeth,
I don´t understand how a commission will help me. Right now we think this
could be done in two ways...

1) put this product as non-inventory items, but this way we cannot track them
or sell them

2) if we include them as normal inventory they will get mixed with our
regular products and we do not want this to happen for accounting reasons and
other reasons.

If we assign a commission it will afect our cost of sales. I think that
what you are suggesting (I am thinking as I type) is to set these items as $0
cost and $0 price and then setting its commission to the price of the items.
The problem that I see then is that once I sell them they have to become part
of my inventory and sales at the same time... will this work????

You can set them as non inventory items. Then make the seller a vendor, and
put in the price they want less your commission.
That way it will not be part of your inventory and you can get reports on
item sold from a particular vendor.
