How do you convert Money99 UK into Money2006 UK as the trial versions
avaliable are for US, they do not allow me to convert the money file,
"incompatable version".

As I said on your other post, there is no Money2006 UK. Money 2005
is the latest.

What do you want to do that Money99 will not do?

Posts to this newsgroup discuss the relative merits of various versions of
Microsoft Money (UK) from 2000 thro 2005.
Useful features in early versions have been deleted (by Microsoft) in later
versions.

You do have choice; older versions (than 2005 UK) are available on 'ebay'.

The question remains though, since the older versions are not supported as
current version by microsoft will they still run properly on Vista?

I'm not sure anyone has yet posted the answer. I've tried Money 2000 and it
appeared to work, although I didn't go too deeply into it to be sure. Other
versions I have tried are on http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/403.aspx,
although Money 2000 is the earliest.

I am about to get a new PC with Vista. i currently use Money 99. I will try
to install it on the new PC and let you know if it works. If not, I would be
happy to upgrade, but I understand that Money 99 data cannot be imported into
Money 2005. Is this true? If so, is there a workaround for the problem (eg
by upgrading to an intermediate version first?)

Hi Bob, thanks for the quick response. The problem is that most of the
workarounds in your FAQs seem to require the use of a trial version. However
there are no UK trial versions, or old versions, available and it is not
possible to convert via another country version, I gather. I suppose I could
try to buy an intermediate version on ebay (which one would you recommend?),
but is there any other solution?

Hi Glyn, Bob et al,

so my new Vista machine has arrived. I installed my Money 99 with its data
file, and it all seems to be working perfectly so far. I may discover
problems as i use it more, but so far it looks as though there is no need to
upgrade.

But thanks for all your advice anyway.
