What are everyone's thoughts on the possibility of a change in the way we
are currently taxed? and how do you personally forsee that effecting your
current investments and the economy as a whole? for the better or worse?
everyones opinion?

I doubt that we will see a wholesale change in the tax system
during our lifespans. There are too many people that have a
vested interest in keeping our current system alive, and too
many people that have special rules in the current tax system
that work to their advantage. I also don't see any of the
fringe 3-rd party candidates ever winning, and then having
enough support in Congress to change the tax system.

I don't think that it is ever a good idea to make an investment
specificially for a tax benefit. Congress is pretty fickle and
can change tax laws at any time. It is OK if you make an investment
and it just happens to have some good tax benefit, but don't lock
yourself into something that is a poor investment outside of the
tax treatment.
