How should an agent (e-commerce) account for customer rewards (no obligation from the customer as well as from the principal)?

How can there be no obligation from Principal? and you mean customer gets loyalty points etc? and if so, there is ofcourse a portion of the sale that goes to Deferred Revenue! if the customer doesnt claim within specified period than it lapses.
There is no obligation from Customer - that is ok!
