DB Relationship between PurchaseOrderEntry and a PurchaseOrder

I

Ian

I'm trying to write a custom report and am struggling with the above
relationship.

How does a purchaseorderentry relate to a purchaseorder? There is obviously
a relationship between purchaseorderentry.PurchaseOrderID and
purchaseorder.ID, but this relationship alone isn’t enough as
purchaseorder.ID aren’t unique in my system. Is it unique with the
combination of StoreID?

Oh for some primary/foreign keys!! :)

TIA
Ian

Hi Ian - is this a report for headquarters? Yes, you'll also need to link
store on purchaseorder.storeid = purchaseorderentry.storeid. If you can,
download and install SQL Server Management Studio Express so you can view
these relationships. Hope this helps......

Hi,
Thanks for the quick feedback and information.

As for viewing relationships - I'm not sure what version of RMS I'm looking
at but there doesn't seem to be any defined in the database at all. Many
tables have no primary keys on them either well (such as the purchaseorder
and purchaseorderentry tables).

Ian - you can view RMS version information by starting either Store
Operations Administrator or Manager and click help - about. Store OPerations
administrator gives you the ability to connect to your database(s) and write
SQL queries against your db's - - go to query - new.....if you type
sp_columns purchseorderentry you will see column properties....and at least
the primary key in the column TYPE_NAME, you will see "int identity". Hope
this helps.....
