Deferred Compensation

As I noted in an earlier submission, I use MS Money to track an Employee
Stock Option/Employee Restricted Stock Unit(RSU) account. The employer has
recently switched from granting stock over a 3 year period to granting cash
over a 3 year period.

Is there a way to track such an account within MS Money 2007? It is very
similar to a Restricted Stock Unit in that the purchase price is 0 and it
vests over a number of years. The difference is that instead of being
granted stock on the vesting date, cash is granted.

The alternative is simply to recognize the bonus when it is received, but I
might forget that I am owed the prior years' deferred bonuses.

Are any of the MVPs looking into this question? Is there an account type in
MS Money that is similar to a stock option/restricted stock unit account
except that instead of stock, cash is awarded to the employee?

No. Maybe you could enter it as a employee option on a MMF or a
pretend stock (no symbol) with a per-share value of $1. Exercise
price of $0.00.

That's what I figured. I had thought about the MMF solution you proposed so
I guess I have to decide if I want to do that or simply record the bonus when
it is received.

Thanks for answering my question.
