Delete a line from middle of invoice

Is there a way to delete a complete line from the middle of an invoice? My
first thought was Control D which deleted the entire invoice (nice touch.
The guys in human factors really got that one right. *NOT*!) It didn't seem
possible to highlight the entire line and delete it. I finally was reduced
to selecting each and every cell in the row and deleted them. That got rid
of the bad data but left a gap between rows. I then cut and pasted
everything below up into the blank lines. Surely, there must be a better
way!

Make sure your cursor is on that line in the invoice and then go to the
menubar and choose "Delete Line"

Ctrl-D usually works... UNLESS
Is it possible you did not have individual line items?
For example, in my office I create invoices for electrical service. I have a
service item (x-description) and I will enter the item and then type the
description of the work to be done. My office assistant just enters the
descriptions if there is no corresponding price (ie. labor and material
breakdown follow).
Although both invoices PRINT the same, the invoice with the line items can
be manipulated to delete individual lines or associate prices with the
individual descriptions. Not so the invoices where the descriptions are
typed in without a corresponding line item. In that case, a CTRL-Delete will
delete the entire description block -- the whole invoice.

Not quite.

CTRL-D deletes the entire transaction.
CTRL-DEL deletes the current line item. If that line consists of a lengthy description, that's what gets deleted, the whole item even if it spans several physical lines. If there is nothing on the invoice but a description, that's what gets deleted - that item on the invoice, not the whole invoice.
