Developer info?

hi,

I'm a web application developer with a potential client who wants an online
store that would be integrated with their existing RMS system.

I've searched MSDN and the Microsoft site, and I've found no developer
information for RMS. I'm actually fairly unclear on the RMS architecture.
Where's a good place to start to find a basic overview of how this system
works?

Also, is there a developer edition of RMS? or would I need to purchase a
full version of the app to do development and testing?

At this point in time Microsoft only allows the SDK to be
available to Microsoft Partners. This is also know as the
customization guide

You might want to check out some of the web integration pieces that are
already out there before tackling your own. NitroASL's rmsWebLinX is an
awesome product with very good integration into RMS. You can see more info
here: http://www.nitroasl.com/products/WebStores/ I've had quite a bit of
experience with both custom and "packaged" web integration with RMS. Drop me
