Steve,
I seem to remember that BC and/or NF required one, but I'd check just to be on the safe side.
You have 3 options;
I don't do Epsons, but with Stars, as Glenn mentioned;
If you use the Windows printer driver and a printer connected cash drawer, then you have to print something to open the drawer.
If you must use a Windows driver for the printer and you want to control the drawer, you will need USB or Serial drawer, load the OPOS driver for the drawer only to control it.
If you must use an OPOS printer driver, set up the OPOS driver for the printer _and_ cash drawer
If using OPOS, setup the printer and/or drawer in Programs | MS RMS | Configure MS OPOS Service Objects.
Change your Register settings in Database | Registers | Register Lists | Receipt Printer 1 or 2 and Cash Drawer 1 or 2.
Then make your selections in the Tender Types, but only if using OPOS drivers.

Hey Jeff, In Canada so state laws don't apply, I know where to set it up I
just need to know if it will work with the OPOS drivers on the epson printer
TM-T88IV with the cable connected to the cash drawer. Or do I need a new cash
drawer as stated earlier.
