The Professional version for the UK market is currently in Beta. Anyone know
if there are plans to release an Express version to the UK market?

TIA

Hi Nigel,

We are beta testing Office Accounting for UK and that's all the news we have
on the UK version at the moment.

I know you are beta testing it, I'm one of the beta testers ;-)

That's why I was asking if there were any plans for an Express edition.

Sorry, I can't elaborate; the blog post is the only authorised comment on
anything international at this stage.

I'd like to know if there is one coming too... If it's been in Beta
since last May surely there must be some more news than that.
The new financial year is starting in a month or so - I was hoping to
be able to start using Office Accounting from then but it's looking
like that's not gonna happen....
Come on MS - give us the UK version...

Exactly what I was thinking James, I was also hoping to start my new year in
April using Office Accounting Express but unfortunatley it does not look that
will be the case, well at least we know their is a UK version being produced,
we will just have to play the waiting game for now.

Hi Everyone,

Just had an email from Microsoft that may answer your questions regarding
the UK version, this is what they said . . .

---------------------------------------------------------
Hello Andy,

Microsoft Office Accounting Express 2007 is currently a US only product. At
this stage, no plans exist for international availability of the product,
with the exception of the UK. In May 2006, Microsoft Office Accounting 2007
(UK version) entered Beta testing in the UK with a targeted set of customers
and partners. Once Beta testing is completed and the results have been fully
reviewed, further updates will become available on the UK product launch. We
anticipate having these updates in the first half of calendar year 2007.

Thank you,
MOA Support Team
------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope that information is useful to some of you enquiring about a UK
version, it looks hopeful that a UK version will arrive within the next
couple of months.

Kind Regards

Andy W

Hi nigel is there any way I can get on the Beta program as I am just about to
start a small business and would like to get the accounts package correct if
they ever do fulfil their aspirations of rolling out a uk Express or
professional package in the first half of the year....
You never know the UG might seemlesly integrate with the Beta....

Thanks Jamie! I'd be hanging on for longer if I hadn't seen your post.

I'm off to buy quickbooks now.

It's a shame MS were so quiet - be nice to be able to make an informed
decision, but then I guess if they're running late they don't want to
advertise the fact.
