For Anyone using Windows 98 And Money 2005

Hello:

Running the old W98 on a six year old Dell Dimension.
Everything works pretty well, and am happy and content with
W98.

But, have just purchased MS Money 2005, and the startup screen says that W98
Second Edition (or W 2000, or XP) is required. It therefore won't install
or run.

Didn't even know there was a "second edition" of W98, although I did hear,
of course of W 2000.

Really don't want to have to run out and buy this W98 second edition, which
I'm
surprised is even still available.

Everything else works, finally, just fine, and I sure don't want to mess
anything up with a new OS just to run this one program.

Think there might be any way of installing and running this program on just
my plain old W98 ?

Or, are there any Patches, etc. avail. that more or less would allow running
it ? (there can't be that many differences, are there ?)

Thanks,
Bob

I am not sure so don't hold me on this but I think when W98SE came out you
could download the update from MS.

Bob, if you have made the decision to stay with Windows 98 on your computer,
then Microsoft Money 2005 is NOT for you. If you read this newsgroup to ANY
extent you will find many people who have earlier versions of Microsoft Money
don't recommend this new product. I suggest you get your money back. When you
are ready to upgrade your computer and your operating system, come back here to
find out what personal finance program might work for you. Good luck. Steve
